ArchivalResource

Strozzi transcript of Diaria et ceremoniale pape Julii II, 1504-1513, 17th or 18th century.

Detailed factual records made almost daily by di Grassi, who was first colleague and then successor to Giovanni Burcardo as Master of Ceremonies. Extracts have been printed. The Catholic Encyclopedia states that there are 16 manuscript copies of the Diary, of which the most complete are in the Vatican and in the Rossiana Library, Vienna. Possibly this transcript was made from the Vatican manuscript. A note at the end of v. 2 states that this transcript omits some of the repeated details of celebrations of Mass, to make easier reading.
